MOCA Bangkok: Mission Impossible

Playing games at MOCA Bangkok: We invite you to take part in a fun, educational, and interactive experience at the heart of Thai culture.
Bangkok's Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA Bangkok) showcases the largest collection of modern Thai art, as well as traditional handicrafts related to Southeast Asian traditions, emphasising cultural identity through the works of hundreds of artists. Notably, the museum hosts pieces from national artists such as Thawan Duchanee, Hem Vejakorn, Chalermchai Kositpipat, Prateep Kochabua, Chalood Nimsamer, and many more, offering insights into contemporary aesthetics fused with traditional philosophies. The museum is dedicated to Professor Silpa Bhirasri (Corrado Feroci), an Italian sculptor who created painting and sculpture courses at Praneet Silpa School, which was later renamed Silpakorn University. He is considered the Father of Thai Contemporary Arts.

Mission Impossible: A Serie of three games

This mission, should the players choose to accept it — and they will —  must be completed within 30 minutes sharp. Naturally, the instructions envelope that the players have received will self-destruct in five seconds.

Game 1: Who’s gonna save the MOCA?
  • Objective — Navigate withing the museum.
  • We need your help! Last night, a group of thieves broke into the MOCA Bangkok — Their plan to steal the museum’s most famous artworks, masterpieces worth millions, failed, but they still caused chaos. In their rush to escape, the thieves left behind a trail of disorder — priceless paintings and sculptures were removed from their displays and scattered throughout the museum.

Game 2: Missing names!
  • Objective — Match iconic artists with their works.
  • MOCA Bangkok is currently experiencing a bit of bad luck and you’ll be the one helping the museum to solve the problem — A mysterious art collector, jealous of the museum’s popularity, has removed the names of all the famous Thai artists from their artworks! Now, these beautiful and important pieces are left without their creators' names, and the museum is in a panic.

Game 3: Find the intruders!
  • Objective — Make your eye accurate.
  • Something terrible happened during the night — Thotsakan, the king of the demons, descended to Earth. He is a 'fallen angel' who brings moral darkness to the Universe, and this time he has decided to cast his shadow over the Museum of Contemporary Art Bangkok. Offended by how he was portrayed in some artworks, he mischievously scrambled the paintings and caused chaos among the artists' collections.
